Breakfast-y Last Minute Gifts for Mother’s Day
May 1, 2016- Breakfast
Doesn’t matter who makes them – kids or adults – home-made presents come from the heart and are the perfect surprise, especially on Mother’s day. We gathered 3 simple, yet amazing DIY ideas for you and tried them out, too, so we can guarantee you’ll have them ready just in time for the big day. Just throw in a breakfast buffet that you, your mum and the whole family can feast on and you got yourself a win-win situation.
Mum’s personalized Muesli Bowl
The bowl is always half full when you got your mum by your side, right? So why not surprise her with a personalized Breakfast Bowl which makes her think of you every morning. Not much of an artist, are you? Get some porcelain coloring in your mum’s favourite color, a wooden skewer and a paintbrush, plus take a look at the photo tuturial on “We love Handmade” showing you how to apply the color. After painting your bowl let it dry and put it in the oven at 150 degrees for 45 minutes to cure the color. On mother’s day: serve your mum some fruity porridge or muesli in the bowl and make her smile.
A Heaping Spoonful of Love
How to sweeten up your Mum’s big day one spoonful at a time? Melt down some white chocolate glaze over hot water and fill the liquid in small wooden spoons. And now go crazy with your toppings: muesli, nuts, seeds, dried fruit – everything is possible! We recommend using flower petals because they look extra pretty! Use our Verival Organic Fruit Energy Mix and decorate your chocolate spoons with crunchy, fruit and flowers all at once. Just let your spoon pralines cool down for about 30 mins until the glaze hardens and then offer them to your mom for a sweet surprise.
Mum’s Favourite Muesli Mix
Nobody knows her better than you, right? So go ahead and create a muesli mix that will wow her taste buds. Use a tall glass bottle or jar for an extra hip and fancy touch and fill it with muesli, crunchy, nuts, fruits, etc. – one layer at a time. In case you want to go with red and lilac: Use our Crunchy Muesli with Blueberries and Apple + Heritage Grains Muesli with Berries and our Blueberry Granola for an especially spring-y colour theme.
Here’s what we used for our mix: Oat Bran, Goji Berries, Crunchy Muesli with Blueberries and Apple, Almond Slivers, Yanick & Fee Puffed Wheat with Fruits, Oats
Have fun getting creative and Happy Mother’s Day!
