Your protein porridge with high fibre oat bran

Our Sport Protein Porridge Raspberry-Cocoa consists of oat bran, dates, cocoa powder, raspberries as well as sunflower and pumpkin seed protein powder. The protein porridge can be prepared in just three minutes and provides an optimal energy supply in the morning and especially before sports.

The oat bran in the porridge has many advantages: Unlike oat flakes, oat bran consists of "only" the marginal layers and the germ of the oat grain. These parts contain a particularly condensed ratio of nutrients. This means that oat bran contains up to 50% more fibre and more protein than conventional oat flakes. Oat bran also tastes slightly different from oat flakes and brings a slightly nutty note to your porridge. In addition, oat bran is slightly firmer to the bite than rolled oats, giving porridge a slightly grainy but creamy texture. 

The high protein and fibre content gives you plenty of strength and energy. Oats are broken down slowly by the body, so the long-term energy supply during your sporting activity is at its best.

Oat bran* 78%, date powder*, raspberry semolina* 4.5% freeze-dried, cocoa powder* 3%, sunflower protein powder*, pumpkin seed protein powder* (pumpkin seed protein* 99%, salt), carob powder*.

Preparation

Put 50 g porridge (6 tbsp) in a bowl and pour over 130 ml boiling water or 90 ml hot milk (depending on the consistency desired). Stir, leave to soak for 3 minutes and enjoy warm. For “Overnight oats“: Add a bit more cold water or cold milk and leave to soak overnight.

Why is protein important for people who do sport?

Protein is a basic component of any balanced diet. Our bodies cannot produce protein themselves, so we need to obtain it from our food. Protein helps build muscle and is even supposed to assist with weight loss. An adequate protein intake is especially important for people who do a lot of physical exercise, because our muscles are largely made of protein.

Dietary fibers are basically fiber-rich ingredients of mostly plant-based foods. They ensure that you stay full for a long time and stimulate your digestion. Dietary fiber thus ensures healthy digestion and intestinal flora.

Oats contain a particularly high amount of dietary fiber. Therefore, the oats in our porridge provide a particularly long-lasting satiety. In addition, the fiber in our porridge regulates your blood sugar level and therefore prevents cravings.

Proteins are an important part of the daily diet. According to the DGE, the daily protein requirement is 0.8 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight, and you need up to 1.5 grams per kilogram to build muscle mass.
