Porridge supplies your body with all the important nutrients at breakfast, is easily digestible and good for your immune system. The complex carbohydrates in oat bran allow your blood sugar to rise only slowly, so you stay full longer and your cravings don't stand a chance. Oats also ensure healthy digestion thanks to the fibre they contain. The apricots also contain important vitamins, such as vitamin A. By the way, our porridge is prepared in only 3 minutes, without cooking.

Superfood Oat bran

In contrast to oat flakes, oat bran "only" consists of the outer layers and the germ of the oat grain, which, however, contain a condensed ratio of fibre and protein. Oat bran therefore contains up to 50% more fibre than conventional oat flakes. Oat bran also tastes slightly different from oatmeal and brings a slightly nutty note to your porridge.

The apricot is bursting with vitamins. The orange fruit is especially known for its high beta-carotene content, the precursor of vitamin A. This substance has antioxidant properties, thus protecting you and your body cells and preventing damage to your cells.

Preparation

Put 50 g porridge (6 tbsp) in a bowl and pour over 130 ml boiling water or 90 ml hot milk (depending on the consistency desired). Stir, leave to soak for 3 minutes and enjoy warm. For “Overnight oats“: Add a bit more cold water or cold milk and leave to soak overnight.

What is oat bran and what advantages does it have?

Unlike oat flakes, oat bran does not consist of the whole oat grain, but only of the outer layers and the germ of the grain. This means that oat bran contains higher amounts of the soluble fibre beta-glucan, which keeps you full for a long time.

What is beta-glucan and why is it good for me?

Beta-glucan is a fibre with a special effect. A daily dose of 3g of beta-glucan has been shown to reduce blood cholesterol levels and has many health benefits. One of the main sources of beta-glucan is oats. One portion of porridge (50g) provides 1.67g of beta-glucan and therefore provides you with half your daily requirement of beta-glucan.
