Heritage grains are healthy
Our crunchies are based on whole grain flakes made from oats, barley, spelt or wheat, which are gently baked. They are rich in fibre, vitamins and minerals. The energy store emptied overnight can therefore be optimally replenished with whole grains.
Handmade in Tyrol
We still make our Crunchy by hand - just like you would at home, only on a larger scale. First, the ingredients are mixed into a dough, then spread on a large baking tray and then gently baked in the oven. After baking, the large resulting biscuit is broken into many small pieces.
Organic Granola from Tyrol
Why Granola or Crunchy from Verival?
The Verival Crunchys and Granolas are not only crispy but also rich in fibre, 100% organic and palm oil free. The Crunchy made from wholemeal flakes is handmade in Tyrol with high-quality ingredients.
Unlike classic muesli, it is baked in the oven and thus provides a crispy-sweet taste every morning.
We still make our Verival Crunchy by hand - just like you would do it at home, only in larger quantities. First the ingredients are mixed to a dough, then spread on a large baking tray and finally gently baked in the oven. After baking, the large biscuit produced is broken into many small pieces. Depending on the product, other ingredients, such as berries, are also added. Now our Verival Crunchy is ready to give you a crispy start to the day!

Start your day crunchy
The Granola or Crunchy is an integral part of the morning rituals of many breakfast lovers. The biscuit texture provides the right crispness.
Do something good for yourself and your body, because our Crunchy is not only delicious, but is also made from wholegrain flakes, which are rich in fibre, vitamins and minerals. Wholemeal regulates your blood sugar level and keeps you full longer. So ravenous appetite doesn't stand a chance. In addition, the fibre they contain ensures a healthy digestion.
But where does the Granola actually come from? Crunchy muesli was invented in the 19th century. Its inventor was the American nutritionist James Caleb Jackson, who wanted to serve his patients a healthy and tasty breakfast. In the USA, this type of muesli has long been very popular.

How healthy is the Crunchy?
We use oats for most of our organic products. This grain is highlighted by nutritionists as particularly valuable because of its 10% fibre content, the quality of its carbohydrates, the protein composition, the unsaturated fatty acids and the vitamins and minerals it contains. It is also scientifically proven that the beta glucan contained in oats has a positive effect on heart health.
Some of our Verival Granolas are made not only with oats, but also with barley, spelt and wheat. What do all varieties have in common? They are made from whole grain flakes.
Whole grains are cereals in which all 3 parts of the grain are processed. This means that fibre, vitamins, oils and minerals are ideally preserved. The flakes help to keep the blood sugar level constant, lead to a long feeling of satiety and support digestion. The energy storage emptied overnight can therefore be optimally replenished with whole grain.

Make Crunchy yourself - simple and healthy recipe
A crunchy muesli consists primarily of cereal flakes baked with honey, syrup or sugar. Depending on taste, other ingredients can be added, such as sunflower seeds, sesame seeds, chopped nuts, dried fruit, coconut flakes, chocolate, spices and much more. There are no limits to your imagination.
Simple do-it-yourself recipe:
Ingredients:
- 200 g oat flakes
- 2 tsp cinnamon or cocoa powder
- 100 g dried fruit
- 150 g nuts / kernels (also berries and seeds)
- 50 g shredded coconut
- 80 g coconut oil (sunflower oil as alternative)
- 5 tablespoons maple syrup or honey
Granola Preparation & Storage
Mix all ingredients except the dried fruit well and place them evenly on a baking tray lined with baking paper. Before doing this, you should preheat the oven on 180 ℃ convection oven. Now slide your tray into the oven.
Keep a close eye on your crunchy muesli. You should mix everything thoroughly about every 5 minutes. Just take the baked oats out of the oven. Repeat this for about 25 minutes and you will be more than satisfied with the result. Now mix in the dried fruit. Let everything cool down and you are done.
How do I store my homemade granola correctly?
Your granola should last for about two weeks if stored well (it is best to keep it airtight). If you do not seal your granule muesli airtight, it will last about a week. So play around and try a little bit with our recipe.
Of course you can let your creativity run wild and satisfy your own desires. There are no limits in the world of crunchy muesli. Just romp around - it's super easy!
We focus on sunflower oil
Palm oil is the most widely used vegetable oil and consumption has increased enormously in recent years. To produce it, however, rainforest is cleared, and many animals and people lose their habitat.
At Verival we are aware of the negative effects of palm oil and do not use it. We focus on sustainability and therefore use sunflower oil, or more precisely high-oleic sunflower oil. This is an oil that is very rich in oleic acid and can therefore be heated to high temperatures without any problems. This is what makes our Crunchy so beautifully crispy when baked.

Granola from Verival – a breakfast with crunch

Want to start your day full of crunchy goodness? Then you've come to the right place.
Made to a unique recipe at our production facility in the Tyrolean Alps, our premium quality organic Verival granolas make for a deliciously biscuity breakfast.
What is granola?
Granola, or crunchy muesli, is typically oven baked to give it a wonderfully crunchy texture. In our granolas that lovely crispiness is provided by gently toasted wholegrain cereals and puffed wholegrain rice crispies. More...
What's so special about Verival Granola?
The recipe for our granolas is a simple one: premium ingredients and plenty of time. Wholegrain cereals are gently toasted using a specially developed baking process, then blended with an array of different goodies.
The result is eight deliciously crunchy varieties for your breakfast table: Berry, Honey, Oat, Spelt, Chocolate, Orange & Acerola, Blueberry & Apple, or – for those who find it impossible to decide – Fruit Mix.
To ensure superlative quality, many steps are meticulously done by hand at our production facility here in the Tyrolean Alps. Our granola recipe is based on wholegrain cereals, sweetened with honey – or raw cane sugar for the vegan varieties. And it goes without saying that none of our products contain palm oil.
Where did granola originate?
Granola is generally thought to have been invented by a 19th-century American doctor, who had wholegrain oat flakes toasted to provide the patients at his sanatorium with a healthy yet temptingly crispy breakfast dish. He subsequently started marketing it as granola, and over the years it was combined with an array of different ingredients.
Granola saw a resurgence in the 1960s, when it was rediscovered by the hippy subculture. Hardly surprising, perhaps, given that it combines healthy eating credentials with enjoyable sweetness and crunch – still the signature features of granola today.
Here at Verival we offer eight different varieties of granola, so there's one for every taste. Incidentally, it's also great for making cereal bars or adding to desserts and is an ideal snack for people on the move. Visit our blog for some tasty recipes!

OAT GRANOLA

What ingredients do we use in our Verival Granolas?
We choose our ingredients to create a delicious, well-balanced breakfast that delivers enough energy to power you through the day, but we also care passionately about the impact on the environment. We're aware of the important role agriculture has to play in preserving wildlife and intact countryside.
That's why our granolas exclusively contain selected, premium quality organic ingredients. You won't find any colourings, artificial flavours and other additives or palm oil in our products. Furthermore, many of our granolas are vegan and lactose free, and all are suitable for vegetarians.
That irresistible crunchiness is supplied by puffed wholegrain rice crispies and toasted wholegrain oats, spelt or wheat. We then enrich this base with a range of delicious flavours including fruit of all kinds, coconut or chocolate. Last but not least comes a little bit of raw cane sugar or honey to sweeten it up, and voilà – the granola is ready! More...
How do I prepare my Verival Granola?
Our granolas are super-easy to prepare. Simply place the desired amount of crunchy muesli blend in a bowl and combine it with yoghurt, quark or your favourite milk – either dairy or a plant-based alternative.
For a pop of extra fruity goodness we recommend adding fresh fruit: berries, for instance, go well with everything, not just Berry Granola.
What granola varieties are there in the Verival range?
We have a total of eight granola varieties in our range, so you'll be spoilt for choice. Purists should try our Oat or Spelt Granola, either just as it comes or with fresh fruit to complement the biscuity base. The subtle sweetness of our Honey Granola makes for a pleasant alternative.
Chocolate is the go-to choice for those with a sweet tooth, who will love the blend of dark and whole milk chocolate.
Fruit fans are especially well provided for: as well as our much-loved Berry Granola, packed with strawberries, blackberries and raspberries, we've also got Blueberry & Apple or Orange & Acerola to choose from. Last but not least, the perfect solution for anyone who finds it impossible to decide – our Fruit Mix Granola contains the best of all the rest!

Berry crunchy breakfast
Our berry granolas exclusively contain freeze-dried fruit. Freeze drying is a gentle technique, so our strawberries, raspberries, blackberries and blueberries retain all their natural vitamins and nutrients!
Sunflower oil instead of palm oil
We guarantee that you won't find palm oil in any of our granolas – and not in any of our other products either. We prefer to use sunflower oil instead. Why? First and foremost because the palm oil industry has a very negative impact on the environment. Palm oil plantations contribute to the extinction of species in our rainforests and emit vast amounts of CO2. You'll find more info about palm oil in our blog.
Oaty goodness for a power breakfast
Oats are a wonderful cereal: they are low in gluten yet especially rich in vital substances and vitamins. Unlike other cereal grains, just a small portion of oats provides your body with lots of important nutrients. The fibre they contain also keeps you feeling fuller for longer, so oats are perfect for staving off hunger pangs.
