Christmas recipe: Waffle and pancake mix

Admittedly, all kinds of baking mixes can now be bought in large quantities. However, with a homemade waffle and pancake mix, you have the possibility to adjust the mixture exactly to your taste. You can take into account certain nutritional preferences and eating habits and make the mix vegan or sugar-free, for example.

All you have to do is choose the right porridge for you as the basis of the recipe. The mix is perfect for your Christmas breakfast or an individually designed sustainable Christmas gift.

The basic recipe for the waffle and pancake mix consists of only 4 ingredients. All you need to prepare it is milk, water or a vegetable drink and some butter for the pan or waffle iron. Put it in your baking mix:

  • Porridge
  • Flour
  • Baking Powder
  • Sea salt

To make your waffle and pancake mix Christmassy, you can add vanilla sugar, cocoa or cinnamon to the mix and arrange the waffles or pancakes with Christmassy toppings. A little maple syrup or agave syrup, cocoa nibs, icing sugar or berries is best. But our Crunchys are also perfect as a delicious topping for your waffles or pancakes.

Waffle and pancake mix

Ingredients

  • 100 g Porridge of your choice (e.g. vegan or without added sugar)
  • 50 g flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 100 ml milk, herbal drink or water

Instructions

  • Mix all the dry ingredients of the baking mix together.
  • Mix with approx. 100 ml milk, vegetable drink or water.
  • Put a little butter in a pan and fry the mixture until golden brown.
